ABOUT THE CHILDREN’S ENRICHMENT CAMP
The Children’s Enrichment Camp (or CEC) is the annual Children’s Enrichment Camp, organised by the Singapore Thomson Road Baptist Church. Held every year-end, our attendance averages approximately 230 children each time we hold the camp! Using materials designed by Lifeway Christian Resources, each camp is a unique experience – for both the children, as well as for all the volunteers involved!
Since our inaugural camp in 2004, TRBC has seen God’s blessing on this ministry as it grows from strength to strength. From an initial ministry involving 200 children (and almost an equal number of volunteers!), we have since expanded our ministry capacity to 250 children – which is as far as our church premises can stretch! God has indeed extended much of his grace to this ministry, and we are continually grateful for His provision to His children.
2006 was another watershed year for this ministry, as we partnered a sister church, Shelter Baptist Church, in organising the camp. As the camp moves onward each year, we bear testimony and witness to God’s goodness and grace towards this ministry. Do keep us in your prayers as we continue this work of developing Christian children’s camps in Singapore!

HISTORY
It’s always pleasant to take a walk down memory lane, to enable us to understand who we are, by knowing where we came from. 饮水思源, so to speak. On this page, we present to you all the camps that we’ve held to date, including links to photographs, music, lyrics, and the official Lifeway Vacation Bible School (VBS) website, wherever possible. We hope you’ll enjoy looking through these strolls down memory lane as much as we do.
(Please note that due to copyright law, we can only provide links to the relevant music and lyrics where they have been made publicly available by the copyright owners (i.e. Lifeway Christian Resources). We know that the links may expire, so if you can’t find the music or lyrics on the official website, we recommend using the iTunes store to search and listen for the music online. For the lyrics, we have provided a list of the six camp songs that are taught every year, and we recommend that you search for the lyrics using your preferred search engine.)

Key Verse: Hebrews 12:1-2
…let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith… (NIV)
2007’s Game Day Central was a reminder to all believers that the life that we live is truly a race, or a game – one that we have to stick to, and persevere if we are to see results. We are promised victory in Christ, and if we fix our eyes on Jesus; if we develop an unwavering focus on Jesus, then we will reach our goal – to reach the author and perfecter of our belief and faith in God: Jesus Christ our Lord.

Arctic Edge – Where Adventure Meets Courage
[Official Site] [Music & Lyrics] [Photos]
Key Verse: Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified;
do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. (NIV)
The team travelled to the outer reaches of urban civilisation in 2006, when we moved to the edge of the Arctic to learn about being courageous for the Lord. 2006’s Arctic Edge challenged the team and the children to think about the question: how can we be strong and courageous, and stand up for our belief in Jesus Christ the Lord? What do we do when we are terrified and discouraged by the problems we face when we live out our faith?
The answer lies in the twofold command and promise that God gave to Joshua: the command to be strong and courageous, and that He will be with us wherever we go.

- Trustin’ God

Ramblin’ Road Trip – Which Way Do I Go?
[Official Site] [Music & Lyrics] [Photos 1] [Photos 2]
Key Verse: Psalm 25:4
Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths. (NIV)
2005’s Children’s Enrichment Camp saw the kids and teachers explore the vast and wide country of the United States of America, in a road-trip themed camp. It was a little strange for everyone to be learning about driving from one state to another (since we don’t really get to do that in Singapore!), but “driving” to the different states to see Yellowstone Park, Washington D.C., The Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Mount Rushmore, and other great American monuments was a wonderful analogy to use for asking the question – how do you pick your path through life? By asking Jesus, of course!

- Ramblin’ Road Trip Theme Song
- Raise Some Praise
- Thanks in Everything
- The Heartland
- We Believe
- Obey Highway

Rickshaw Rally – Racing to the Son!
[Official Site] [Music & Lyrics] [Photos]
Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 9:24
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only
one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. (NIV)
The first CEC was held in 2004, in the grounds of Thomson Road Baptist Church. Approximately 200 children were involved in the camp – with over 100 teachers and helpers!
The 2004 camp theme was “Rickshaw Rally – Racing to the Son” – a look at how we should continually run this daily race to Jesus, the Son of God! The camp activities mimicked a version of a Japan-wide scavenger hunt for clues, leading to the next clue, and the next – which adds up to an intriguing mix of geography lessons, and bible learning. Great fun for everyone, and a great start to our enrichment camp series!
Songs:
- Far Out Far East Rickshaw Rally Theme Song
- Ready For The Race
- Run to the One
- Rush to Rest
- Sing a Song of ABC
