Do note that if your child is K1-P3, s/he is in VBS (right side programme), and if your child is P4-6, s/he is in VBX (left side programme.) Don’t get confused! They run parallel to each other, so everything stays the same – registration, end time and concert!

Thank you for the overwhelming response. We regret to tell you that registration for TRBC’s CEC 2009 is now CLOSED.

FYI, this year’s registration filled up 99% of all placed within six (6) days of online registration opening – an amazing record for us.

We look forward to many more years of partnership with everyone.

1. Total up your orders – ($50 per camp registration, $10 for each extra t-shirt, $10 for each music CD)
2. Make your cheque payable to “Singapore Thomson Road Baptist Church”
3. Write your child’s name at the back of the cheque.
4. Mail your cheque to:

Another year gone by, another CEC – this is the what year now? Maybe we should take a year’s furlough once we’ve hit the magic number year 7

This is just a post to let everyone know that we’re all up and kicking, and yes, registration is going to start soon, so get your mouses/mice ready!

Also, please note that there is NO mistake – the dates of the camp are 24-27 November 2009.
If you have heard/read/seen otherwise, forget the old dates. These are the correct dates.

24-27 Nov 2009, Tues – Fri

Well, it’s the end (ITE) of yet another year’s CEC – the culmination of six months of planning and budgeting and registration and purchasing and who knows what other stuff we did? It is amazing what God has done for us with regard to this camp in particular – and I am completely awed and humbled by His work in us.

The strongest impression that God made on my heart is how faithful He is, when we are so unfaithful. On the day that my class was scheduled to go out (Day 4, 27 Nov), I took the step of faith to ask for very specific weather – not rainy, but cloudy with the slightest bit of sun. I did ask God for it, but in my heart of hearts, I still doubted. Especially so when I woke up in the middle of the night before the 27th, only to hear a disheartening thunderstorm in the midst of its screaming crescendo. I did keep praying then (and then turned over and went right back to sleep), but – again, so little faith – I was thinking in my head: “Die lah die lah, tomorrow outing sure need to think of wet weather programme one.”

There is no need to tell you how the weather was on Thursday – but I will anyway: it was perfect. No rain, no puddles of water, lots of cloud cover, even a little bit of sun. Everything that I had asked for, even with my doubting heart. It’s like asking for a double shot mocha frappachino low fat whip cream with chocolate sprinkles on top: and getting exactly what you asked for – except the weather isn’t something you can just order at your local coffeeshop! God is really amazing.

This year also marked a new departure for me – I normally handle the music station, which teaches the kids songs and the corresponding dance moves. I enjoy the process, and it does allow me to see all the kids from the camp, but it doesn’t really give me any in-depth interaction with them. This year, I was challenged by God and man to move into classroom teaching instead. And so I did – and it was an experience, with ups and downs. The good thing was: more interaction with the children, and an opportunity to indeed “let my actions match my passions.” The bad was: it’s like being back in our first camp: I had no idea how to pace myself with this new sort of schedule, and I am once again down with the flu from over-exertion! I will know better the next time around.

That’s all for my immediate reflections today – I need to crash – but there should be more reflections coming along soon.
